Civil Division

The BCSO Civil Division is headed by the Sheriff and his command staff.

Civil papers and Concealed Handgun Licenses (CHL) are processed and issued by the Civil Department. CHL applications require a current passport or certified birth certificate. This includes renewals. For more information, contact April Bowers, Civil Deputy or download the CHL pdf form here.

Civil Fees set by State Statue(Effective-July 1, 2021)

Enforcement Action Minimum Fee(fees vary) $89.00
Folio(Copy of any process, order, notice or other intrument in writing, when necessary to complete the service thereof, but no charge shall be made for copy of complaint or other document not actually made by the sheriff) $4.00
Conveying Property (Deeds, Certificate of Redemption, or other conveyance of real property) This fee does not include the $10 notary fee some sheriff's offices charge> $56.00
