Baker County Dispatch

Baker County Dispatch is comprised of 8 full-time telecommunicators, a records specialist, and various reserve positions. All telecommunicators must attend and successfully graduate from the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) academy to obtain their basic telecommunications certificate through the state of Oregon. They are also required to receive their Advanced Emergency Medical Dispatch (EMD) certification and the National Crime Information Center (NCIC)/ Law Enforcement Data System (LEDS) certificate.

Along with providing emergency telecommunications services, Baker County Dispatch also manages a narrowband FM Radio consisting of 18 repeaters on nine sites within the county, as well as one site located in the State of Idaho. Those sites and repeaters provide three seperate communications networks: Blue Net (law enforcement), Red Net (Fire/EMS), and the Road Department/local government Net. All radios in the Baker County system are interoperable with our parenter agencies at the State and Federal level and in adjacent counties.
